We host a Music Business Seminar and Music Clinic where you and other attendees will have the opportunity to learn about getting radio play, marketing and promotion, copyrighting your music and publishing it. You can learn about digital distributing, contracts between bands and labels, distributors, etc. Learn about booking shows, tours and how to promote your band. And at one of our clinics, learn playing techniques from professional players who make a living playing music and what they did to get in the music business.
For the year 2013, SMP is going to scale back the number of events we plan to host. We are considering having an all day event coming up during the summer, but this is still in development. In the meantime,
California Lawyers for the Arts is hosting their 30th Annual Music Business Seminar on January 26th, 2013 at The Berkeley School of Law where they will share much of the same information that we do. You will learn about Creative Music Licensing, The Live Music Business, Artist Management and The Streaming Music Business. Admission is $70 for the entire day. However, there's a way to get in FREE!
